Restorative procedures

What is the difference between filling materials?
Amalgams require more removal of healthy tooth structures. Composites allow for less preparation of the tooth and are therefore more conservative. Composites are also more aesthetic than amalgams, because they are tooth-colored..

What is bonding?
A common term used for composite or tooth colored restorations. Composite materials can be used to fill cleared areas of decay, cover discoloration’s/defects, and to repair chipped or broken teeth.
