A pediatric dentist is a specialist who is dedicated to the oral health of children from infancy through young adulthood. Today's pediatric dentists have had special training beyond that of the family dentist to provide the most up-to-date and thorough treatment for a wide variety of children's dental needs.

Meet Doctor Pat

Patricia Ann Carta was raised in Ridgewood, NJ. She received her BA with honors from Lafayette College in 1976. Her DMD was earned in 1979 from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.

In 1981, following two years of post doctoral study in children's dentistry, Dr. Carta received her certificate of specialization in pediatric dentistry.

Dr. Carta became a board certified pediatric dentist and a fellow of The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry in 1990.

For her orthodontic training, Dr. Carta completed three years of post doctoral studies in a straight wire orthodontic program in 1987.

Each year Dr. Pat continues to complete advanced studies in both orthodontics and pediatric dentistry.

Dr. Carta has been in private practice in Middletown since 1981.
